Barb Jungr’s new CD kicks off in her childhood town of Stockport England and catalogues her strong desire to get out and head for the land of gospel and soul. She did so singing her way through cabaret, jazz, contemporary music theatre and finally and famously reinterpreting songs from the great canon of popular music. Her renditions of Bob Dylan are only done better by Dylan himself and her take on Neil Young, Tom Waits and Joni Mitchell sometimes border on deconstruction. She’stouring and sings live on The Music Show accompanied by longtime collaborator, producer and pianist Simon Wallace.
