Heath B-W Album Inside @300dpi

Heath Cullen, born and raised in Bega Valley has made the rare choice not to move to the big smoke, rather staying behind in the little community of Candelo where he cherishes the peaceful surrounds. While others have moved on to the big smoke chasing their dreams Cullen has stayed on the farm where the neighbours will never complain about playing his guitar late into the night on front porch.

Shortly, Cullen will be packing up his guitar case to tour the East Coast with 4 time Grammy winning artist Joe Henry. Cullen has just returned from supporting The Waifs. He is certainly making an impression on some high profile musicians.

Cullen’s song writing and performance has been likened to the greats of Eric Clapton and Nick Cave. The reviews of his most recent recording ‘The Still and the Steep’ featuring artists of the highest calibre Jim Keltner (John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Lucinda Williams), guitarist Marc Ribot (Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Robert Plant Alison Krauss), and bassist Larry Taylor (Canned Heat) is proof that this gem of an artist is one that Australian audiences should be hearing more of.

“There’s something about Cullen. Something absorbing…the show is suave and captivating … The gent is a genuine troubadour” RHYTHMS

“A collection of exquisite songs.. like a road trip heading out of town at daybreak, nothing ahead but empty plains and cloudless skies” 4 STARS – THE WEEKEND AUSTRALIAN

Cullen will join Joe Henry on his East Coast Australian tour dates excluding his Brisbane Festival performance.
