Josienne Clarke and Ben Walker sing beautifully drawn miniatures full of a melancholy reminiscent of early-70’s folk singers like Sandy Denny, June Tabor and Shirley Collins. But when the the duo started branching out into lush, layered orchestral textures, fans got upset. They’re in to talk about their accidental brush with folk music and landing a deal at the very hip independent Rough Trade label. And we get a couple of live pared back songs from their latest album Seedlings All.
