Growing up surrounded by gospel and soul from her musical mother and the elaborate bedtime stories of her father, Lucy Hall has a mind full of fairy tales, and a heart ablaze with song. Evoking nostalgia, and the desire to find something unreal amongst the ordinary, she is inspired by the nuances of the everyday, by innocence, and the dynamic curiosities of simply being. The alchemy of salt, shadows and quiet sunshine creates melodies that sometimes drift, sometimes twist and turn. She sings with a voice that is part gospel, part ether, and always achingly beautiful.

In 2009, before leaving for a year in Europe, Lucy released her debut EP Under the Trees. Co-produced by Lucy and Phil Stack, and featuring Evan Mannell, Carl Dewhurst and Phil Stack on drums, guitar, keys and bass, the initial pressing sold out in a week. Since exploring the European music scene, performing at the Melodica acoustic festival in Hamburg, venues like Panama nightclub in Amsterdam, and playing with the Amsterdam Songwriter’s Guild, Lucy has returned to Australia performing sold out shows at Ravál in Sydney, as well as performing at Sydney venues Sin-é @ Café Lounge, The Vanguard and The Supper Club, and touring alongside Canada’s Digging Roots, Melbourne’s Saritah and Sydney’s Thirsty Merc.
