This week, Rhythms is proud to unveil its new website – a dynamic and authoritative source of roots music information created by music fanatics, for music fanatics – the perfect companion to the printed magazine. Founded in April 1 992, Rhythms has become synonymous with roots.

From humble beginnings as a free paper, to the internationally esteemed publication it is now, Rhythms was there before the term roots music was popularised in Australia. Rhythms has continued to focus on quality credible music, from blues and soul,to country and Americana, to folk, world and jazz, to archiving the margins of classic Aussie rock.

As well as featuring excerpts from the print magazine, the new Rhythms website will offer exclusive online content, including breaking news catering to the tastes of Rhythms readers. There will be regular blogs from Managing Editor Marty Jones, Assistant Editor Samuel J. Fell and Founding Editor Brian Wise; a forum dedicated to the discussion of roots music; a full roots music Gig Guide; extended interviews; footage of live interviews conducted at various festivals; competitions; exclusive album previews and downloads; and easy access to print subscriptions.

Plus we’re reviving our weekly email newsletter with breaking news and competition offers. Though devoted to analog, Rhythms acknowledges that we are in the digital age and the new website is just the first step. Rhythms will be published in digital form for iPads and iPhones in the new year! (Don’t worry, the print version isn’t going anywhere.)
